Welcome to Veracious Brewing Company, where the truth is in the beer!

We currently have fourteen beers on tap, New England Cider and eight wines for sale by the glass.  We carry the take-out/delivery menus of local restaurants Sal’s Pizza, Vazzy’s and The Tavern, but you can bring in your own food as well.  Well behaved and well-supervised children are welcome!

Our tasting room is open on Thursday 3pm-9pm, Friday 12pm-9pm and Saturday 10am-9pm.  The tap room and brewery are available to rent for private events on the days we are not open.

You can find our beers on tap at Osteria Romana, Insports, Tavern, Buffalo Bills and Vazzy’s Osteria all of which are located in Monroe.  You can also find our beers at Romanacci Pizza Bar in Trumbull, My Place in Newtown, Porky’s in Shelton, Tap and Vine and Westbrooke Lobster in Wallingford.  We also sell logs and half barrels through Warehouse Wines which is located next to Maltose Express.

In January 2016 we were named as one of the top 33 new breweries of 2015 in the United States by Beer Advocate Magazine.

Current News


In the last four weeks we brewed our summer IPA Andromeda, our Bohemian Pilsner, Owd Boreus, our Holiday Beer for 2017, an Oktoberfest, and a  Belgian Single Golden ale.

Here is our countdown for upcoming beer releases:

April 20th:  Our latest and best version of Bloobs.  The local blueberries from Jones Family Farm give it the unique blueberry and tart flavor.

April 27th:  Veracious Pilsner.  This year we added some German Hallertauer Hersbrucker hops to last year’s pilsner recipe to give the beer a little more hop spice.

May 11th: Golden Summer, our  Belgian single style ale, brewed with the Rochefort yeast and orange peel to create a bright refreshing summer ale.

We are very excited for the upcoming Bridgeport Bluefish season.  We have taken over the beer garden where they will be serving only VERACIOUS beer!  We are also brewing a beer just for the Bluefish stadium.  The Bluefish will be having a contest to name the Bluefish beer so start thinking of names for the beer.  We will also have the Bluefish at Veracious one Sunday so you can meet some of the players and of course their mascot.  It will be a great season and there is no better time to watch a local ball game and drink local (VERACIOUS) beer!

Historical English Pale Ale, made with grains, hops and yeast available in 1823, the year Monroe was incorporated, 4.6% abv

Easy drinking Citra-based American IPA, 6.0% abv

Ain’t No Sunshine, Black IPA

Dark IPA brewed with roasted grains and Centennial and Columbus hops, 6.0% abv

Big Scotty

This Wee Heavy is rich, semi-sweet and slightly smoky. Irish, English and US Pale Malt along with Peated and roasted malts were used when mashing this beer, 9.0% abv

Grady’s Bitter

Refreshing English ale with a malt and earthy hops aroma and medium body, 3.7% abv


This IPA will help welcome Spring with it’s fruity nose and flavor, brewed with Mosaic and Cascade hops, 6.3% abv

Lucy’s Last Call

Belgian style Golden Ale, fruity aroma, smooth complex flavor, 9.3% abv

Owd Boreus

Imperial Red with hints of rye balanced with caramel malts and hops, 8.4% abv

Pedestrian Pale Ale

American Pale Ale with a nice marriage of grains and US hops, 5.3% abv

Pigtail Porter

Full-bodied Robust Porter with an aroma and flavor of roasted grains and malt, 5.8% abv

Problem Child IPA

A light bodied IPA with piney and lemony flavor and aroma, 5.7% abv

Time and 1/2

Our most aggressive IPA brewed with Amarillo hops, 6.8% abv

Udderly Delicious Milk Stout (served on CO2 and on nitrogen in the tasting room but on CO2 for growler fills)

Stout brewed with lots of roasted grains and lactose, a non-fermentable sugar 5.1% abv
